VISAKHAPATNAM: Scores of children of different age groups participated in the Talent Hunt contest organised by Jain Heritage, a Cambridge School at VUDA Children’s Theatre on Saturday as part of the launch programme of the school. The chief guests for the function were child artist Master Teja and Dr. Vijay Shekhar, neurosurgeon at King George’s Hospital.

Earlier, D.P. Chandrasekhar, COO of Jain Heritage, a Cambridge School, spoke about the objectives of the school and its curriculum. Jain Group of Institutions is a conglomerate of 38 educational institutions all over India with more than 38,000 students.

“The main objective of the institution is not only to foster educational excellence but also to make learning an enriching and fulfilling experience. The school firmly believes that education should be for life and not just for a living,” he said.

Highlighting other aspects of the institution, he said that sports education is a distinctive feature of the school that aims to develop the overall personality of the student. The school is situated at Resapuvanipalam, opposite Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium.

‘Human values’

Dr. Vijay Shekhar said that education should also instil values among children and endeavour to bring out the best in every individual. Master Teja interacted with the students.

The talent hunt consisted of a host of fun activities and games for children of age groups six months to 14 years. The main events were a well baby show, ‘splash the colours’ drawing competition, light music and dance and talent show. Winners received attractive prizes and gift hampers sponsored by Jain Heritage.
